December 15, 2013
Dear Friends of The Arts Initiative,
As we see the old year out and the new year in, we continue to welcome professional staff to our galleries and operations. Christopher Gose joins us as Deputy Director of Facilities and Programming and Kelly McNicholas joins us as our Design and Communications Coordinator. Betty O’Brien, our strategic planning coordinator for the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) partnerships, retired this year, but will return in 2014 to see us through the current three-year contract with the RSC.
This coming year we will continue to introduce students to the delights of the Royal Shakespeare Company with their production of “The Taming of the Shrew” (which will tour Columbus in April 2014), showcase the thesis work of our visual arts students in Hopkins Hall Gallery and at Urban Arts Space, and join with members on the Town and Gown Committee on the Arts in projects such as the “Jack and the Beanstalk” tour with OperaColumbus.
We continue to thank you for your patronage, support, and interest in all that we do at Urban Arts Space, Hopkins Hall Gallery, Royal Shakespeare Company Partnership, and the Town and Gown Advisory Committee on the Arts. We hope to see you at the next event, exhibition, or performance on campus, around town, and at Urban Arts Space.
Our best wishes during the season,
Director - Urban Arts Space
Associate Dean of Arts and Humanities, Executive Director of The Arts Initiative, & Professor of Dance
