Master of Fine Arts Dance Exhibition

Four graduate students in the OSU Department of Dance present their MFA thesis work as exhibition and performance. These works by Lindsay Caddle LaPointe, Lily Skove, Rodney Veal, and Lise Worthen-Chaudhari will explore the crossroads where technology and the body meet, putting into play ideas of memory, imagination, physiology, and scale.


Lily Skove Biography
Lily Skove is a choreographer and dance artist for the stage and for the screen. Skove’s company, Skoveworks, has presented their evening length work, "SPLIT" at the Time To Dance International Contemporary Dance Festival in Riga, Latvia in June 2008, and at The Chocolate Factory Theater in New York City in May 2007. Skoveworks has also presented work at The Field, Chashama, Spoke the Hub, The d.u.m.b.o dance festival, and Galapagos Arts Space in New York City. Skove has screened her dance videos at Dance Theater Workshop in NYC, at the Empty Bottle in Chicago, and at the Wexner Center in Columbus for the Ohio Short Film and Video Showcase 2008. Her dance videos made in collaboration with Cinematographer TJ Hellmuth were released for The Chandeliers on record labels Pickled Egg Records in Europe, and Obey Your Brain in the States. Skove is a founding member of The Lower Lights Collective, a group of artists who work in performance, sound, and sculpture. Skove’s writing on dance for the camera has been published in the Dance on Camera Journal. Currently pursuing her MFA in dance and technology at The Ohio State University, Skove holds a Diploma in Dance Studies from the Laban Centre, UK and a B.A. from Wesleyan University.


Lindsay Caddle LaPointe Biography

Lindsay Caddle LaPointe received her BA degree in Dance/Performance from Roger Williams University.  Her professional dance experience includes working with Boston based companies such as:  Mosaic Dance Body, inFlux dance, and Fresh Squeezed Dance among others.  She was a recipient of the Emerging Artist Award in 2006 given by Green Street Studios where she presented the dance piece Raw Footage.  Currently she is an MFA candidate at The Ohio State University Dance department where she is focusing on dance for the camera.


Rodney Veal Biography

Rodney Veal a former dancer and Resident Choreographer with Gem City Ballet serves as adjunct faculty for both Stivers School of the Performing Arts and Sinclair Community College. He is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a BS in Political Science and Visual Arts. He currently attends The Ohio State University where he is entering his third and final year as MFA Candidate in Choreography. He serves as the representative for the dance department on the Council of Graduate Students and was recently appointed to the Faculty/Student Senate representing the Fine Arts Graduate Students.

Veal is the recipient of several MCACD grants and fellowships. Several of his works performed as a part of the Ohio Dance Festival.  Veal was one of twenty-six dancers chosen to participate in the William Forsythe workshop and Choreographic Objects Symposium conducted in collaboration with The Ohio State University Dance department and the Wexner Center for the Arts.   He is one of five artists chosen nationwide to participate in the Blue Sky Dayton Project Artist in Residency Program held in collaboration with the University of Dayton in the summer of 2009.
