Thursday, January 10, 2013 - 5:00pm - 8:00pm

Join us as we inaugurate the first in-depth retrospective and major exhibition of comic artist Mark Beyer's work in the United States. Mark Beyer: With/Without Text features more than 70 of Beyer's original works, including comic strips, silkscreens, paintings in reverse on plexiglass, and original commissioned artwork for concert posters and record and magazine covers.

From 5–6pm guests can participate in a gallery walkthrough, guided by Tom Wagner, exhibition curator; Darryl Mendelson, co-owner of the former comics and alternative art shop, Monkey's Retreat; James Payne, director of Roy G Biv Gallery for Emerging Artists; and documentary filmmaker James Lawrence. Guests are invited ask questions and join their conversation as they address works throughout the Space.

Reception will continue from 6–8pm. Bring friends, mingle with community members and the curator for the remainder of the evening. Light refreshments will be provided.

Free and open to all.
