These works by Lindsay Caddle LaPointe, Lily Skove, Rodney Veal, and Lise Worthen-Chaudhari visit the crossroads of technology and the body, exploring memory, imagination, physiology, and scale. Performances will further activate the four unique, physical environments created by each artist.The artists will be performing their work on April 1st and 2nd.Curated by Dave Covey.The ProjectsLindsay Caddle LaPointe's project, OVERSIZED, involves four dances for the camera celebrating large-scale art of the everyday objects found in the state of Ohio.Lily Skove presents The Edge of Visibility, a set of video installations and performance derived from her experimentation with light as presence.Inspired by the video work of Lincoln Schatz, Rodney Veal's installation combines sculpture and video as a way to explore memory and movement. This piece, The Persistence of Memory II, explores personal narrative and how much we keep from the public.Lise Worthen-Chaudhari's Embedded Arts utilizes motion capture technology to embed the arts in stroke and spinal cord injury rehabilitation. Images from this work will be installed for the duration of the exhibition and evening performances will include a demonstration of her improvisational, arts-generative process.Also: Rashana Smith presents a video short, Seedling, which offers a quick glimpse of behind-the-scenes footage from each piece.BiographiesLindsay Caddle LaPointeLindsay Caddle LaPointe is a third year graduate student in the Department of Dance at the Ohio State University who is focusing on dance and technology. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance/Performance from Roger Williams University. Her professional dance experience includes Boston based companies: Mosaic Dance Body, inFlux dance, and Fresh Squeezed Dance among others. She was a recipient of the Emerging Artist Award in 2006 where she presented Raw Footage, a dance mimicking videos shown at Green Street Studios in Cambridge, MA.In 2007 Lindsay formed Linden Tree Productions, a company that specializes in producing video dance through witty play with perspective and scale. $9674.21 was presented at the Wexner Center for the Arts in 2008 as part of the International Day for Sharing Life Stories. The OVERSIZED project is a part of an ongoing thematic investigation that Lindsay plans to continue after the completion of her master of fine arts degree.Lily SkoveLily Skove is a choreographer and dance artist for the stage and for the screen. Skove's company, Skoveworks, has presented their evening length work, "SPLIT" at the Time To Dance International Contemporary Dance Festival in Riga, Latvia in June 2008, and at The Chocolate Factory Theater in New York City in May 2007. Skoveworks has also presented work at The Field, Chashama, Spoke the Hub, Thed.u.m.b.o dance festival, and Galapagos Arts Space in New York City. Skove has screened her dance videos at Dance Theater Workshop in NYC, at the Empty Bottle in Chicago, and at the Wexner Center in Columbus for the Ohio Short Film and Video Showcase 2008. Her dance videos made in collaboration with Cinematographer TJ Hellmuth were released for The Chandeliers on record labels Pickled Egg Records in Europe, and Obey Your Brain in the States. Skove is a founding member of The Lower Lights Collective, a group of artists who work in performance, sound, and sculpture. Skove's writing on dance for the camera has been published in the Dance on Camera Journal. Currently pursuing her MFA in dance and technology at The Ohio State University, Skove holds a Diploma in Dance Studies from the Laban Centre, UK and a B.A. from Wesleyan University.Rodney VealRodney Veal a former dancer and Resident Choreographer with Gem City Ballet serves as adjunct faculty for both Stivers School of the Performing Arts and Sinclair Community College. He is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a BS in Political Science and Visual Arts. He currently attends The Ohio State University where he is entering his third and final year as MFA Candidate in Choreography. He serves as the representative for the dance department on the Council of Graduate Students and was recently appointed to the Faculty/Student Senate representing the Fine Arts Graduate Students.Veal is the recipient of several MCACD grants and fellowships. Several of his works performed as a part of the Ohio Dance Festival. Veal was one of twenty-six dancers chosen to participate in the William Forsythe workshop and Choreographic Objects Symposium conducted in collaboration with The Ohio State University Dance department and the Wexner Center for the Arts. He is one of five artists chosen nationwide to participate in the Blue Sky Dayton Project Artist in Residency Program held in collaboration with the University of Dayton in the summer of 2009.Lise Worthen-ChaudhariLise Worthen-Chaudhari is an MFA candidate in Dance and Technology at The Ohio State University. Lise earned both a BFA in Dance and MS in Kinesiology from The University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She is also the Artistic Director of Motor Dance. She has presented and performed original choreography nationwide in festivals such as Big Range Austin Dance Festival, Brazos Contemporary Dance Festival, Bumbershoot, Islewilde Festival, and the National College Dance Festival at the Kennedy Center. Four graduate students in the OSU Department of Dance present their Master of Fine Arts projects as exhibition and performance. The Projects

Lindsay Caddle LaPointe's project, OVERSIZED, involves four dances for the camera celebrating large-scale art of the everyday objects found in the state of Ohio.

Lindsay Caddle LaPointe

Lindsay Caddle LaPointe is a third year graduate student in the Department of Dance at the Ohio State University who is focusing on dance and technology. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance/Performance from Roger Williams University. Rodney Veal
