She received a BA in Art Therapy and Dance from Springfield College where she was the recipient of the President’s Achiever’s Award. Davis has performed in works by Susan Rethorst, Paige Phillips, Fritha Pengelly, and Crystal Gipe Nilsson, among others. She also specializes in dance film and documentation and currently is the videographer for OhioDance.   ElsewhereElsewhere brings life to isolation, seclusion, and detachment. Choreographer Ani Javian asks: How does disloaction effect spirit? The intimate seating arrangement along a runway-shaped stage places the audience in close proximity to the performance. yet, the work exhibits physical and emotional distance. NYC-based sound designer James Lo and local visual artist Leah Frankel collaborate with Javian to create this new dance.Performance by Abby Carlozzo, Shannon Drake, Kelly Hurlburt, Sarah Levitt, and Sabrina LumbertInstallation by Leah FrankelSound by James LoSupport from The Department of Dance's Semester Funding Initiative, The Graduate School's Alumni Grants for Graduate Research and Scholarship and Critical Difference for Women Professional Development GrantAni Javian is currently a third-year MFA in Dance at The Ohio State University where she received a University Fellowship (2012-13) and holds a position as a Graduate Teaching Associate. She has a BA Degree in Dance and English from Connecticut College where she was awarded the Martha Myers Prize. Ani is a co-founder of the choreographer's collective, Propel-her, with whom she received a 2009 MCAF LMCC Grant. Her choreography has been presented at various New York City venues and recently represented The Ohio State University at The American College Dance Festival where it was chosen for the gala performance. Ani has danced for Molly Lieber, Paige Phillips, Betsy Miller, Natalie Desch, and Naomi Goldberg Haas' Dances for a Variable Population, among others.
