Through paintings, we can accomplish both—these artists revel in the physicality of their chosen medium. Paint shows the residue of touch, calling attention to both the process of looking at and the making of their work. The group strives to communicate successfully through imagery and narrative, but also through synesthesia. Together, the painters present dramatically varying atmospheres ranging from explosive and vibrant geometric shapes to serene water scenes, asking viewers to enjoy and take part in the ensuing dialogue between paintings. With a forthright intention to facilitate both an immediate and intimate experience with the work, We Don’t Have All Night asserts an unfussy and playful attitude toward painting, exuding confidence and bravado.Represented painters include Emi Inoue (Japan), Katie Grauer (Baltimore), Zachary Podgorny (Uzbekistan), Munro Galloway (Seattle/NYC), Micah Daw (Florida), Kati Gegenheimer, Michael Ambron, Dustin Metz, & Lauren Whearty (Philadelphia/Pennsylvania).Curated by Lauren Whearty. We Don’t Have All Night presents the work of nine painters who continually challenge methods of representation through their experimental applications of paint and addition of unconventional materials.

As a generation increasingly dependent upon a fractured sense of visual reality through movies, video games, internet, and constant stimulation, it is necessary to communicate physically as well as visually.

With a forthright intention to facilitate both an immediate and intimate experience with the work, We Don’t Have All Night asserts an unfussy and playful attitude toward painting, exuding confidence and bravado.

Represented painters include Emi Inoue (Japan), Katie Grauer (Baltimore), Zachary Podgorny (Uzbekistan), Munro Galloway (Seattle/NYC), Micah Daw (Florida), Kati Gegenheimer, Michael Ambron, Dustin Metz, & Lauren Whearty (Philadelphia/Pennsylvania).

Curated by Lauren Whearty.
