As Deputy Director, Chris provides artistic direction and alongside his colleagues and team of student employees and interns, he is responsible for facilities and educational programming direction, supervision and management at both the Urban Arts Space and Hopkins Hall Gallery. Starting at Urban Arts Space in 2013, Chris sees this space as an amazing resource for students and faculty alike. He believes the gallery offers a unique opportunity for faculty and students to display their studio research on a professional stage, which is something not always found at comparable institutions. Chris enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, and trying to maintain a marathon training regimen. He is passionate about the act of making something creative with his hands, as well as making things with his daughters.
Chris recommends long distance running, dark chocolate, a good beer, a warm fire and time with those you love.
