Kate, a senior at Ohio State and Urban Arts Space intern, is excited to learn about all the different areas of gallery management, from operations to marketing. Her favorite thing about working at UAS is planning and executing community-centered events, which aligns with her passion for supporting her community and establishing art spaces as dynamic meeting places. 

Kate has been surrounded by art and creativity for most of her life. After exploring many mediums, such as painting and ceramics, she has recently fallen in love with cyanotype printing, which is a photography process that uses sunlight to develop photographs. Inspired by the natural world, she loves to learn new ways of how art can harmonize with nature. 

In her free time, she cherishes shared time with loved ones (including her cats), loves cooking, and enjoys music, movies, books, and video games. She values community bonds and believes having the courage to be kind is one of life's most important principles. A line from the poet Mary Oliver captures this feeling: “Love yourself. Then forget it. Then, love the world.”
