Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

During the 1970s, Black people experienced an explosion of political upheaval and racism, which began an era of cultural pride and the fight for equality. Realizing that these themes are still common today, I wanted to create something bold, highlighting the power behind Blackness and the external outlaws of freedom that can prevail.

These collages were made in 2019, in reference to the BLM movement, and how the frustrations of inequity continued to exist in a prolonged timeline of racism. Archives is my interpretation of history repeating itself while also highlighting how a strong Black community can impact various outcomes of change throughout history.
