Against Abandonment: DIY Approaches to Clean Air Justice

gallery space with air filters and photograms
Sat, March 7, 2026
3:30 pm - 6:00 pm
Urban Arts Space

Ohio Clean Air Coalition, a mutual-aid group founded by exhibiting artist Sam Wrigglesworth, will demystify key aspects of improving indoor air quality in the interest of maintaining disability justice in our collective spaces. This is a free event, but an RSVP is greatly appreciated.

Participants will leave the workshop with hands-on experience building air purifiers as well as technical knowledge to make the invisibility of air and virus transmission tangible. The skills taught in this workshop will utilize similar materials and technical knowledge as Wrigglesworth’s functional air purifier sculptures within the exhibition space.

Masks are required and provided for workshop participants, and there are air purifiers. Please keep in mind that as the gallery is a public space without a mask requirement—there will not be universal masking in the gallery at-large. Masking in close proximity for the workshop will keep us safer. For any questions including estimated ACH (air-changes-per-hour) email OhioCleanAirCoalition@protonmail.com.

Urban Arts Space is fully ADA accessible.

Workshop Facilitators: Sarah Doherty, Sean Rule-Hoffman, Sharon Kim, and Sam Wrigglesworth
