July 10th at 6:30 PM (EST) on urbanartsspace Instagram Live for an engaging exploration of movement and memory!            bending to reverse, reversing to extend over the time, under the skin a world suspends, an inhale floats         connection asks; what to catch and how to preserve surface detangles the streams         potential within detailed simplicity confusion elucidates, what velocity illudes               following what the smell promises in the fold of leading tenderness one’s own recollection is one’s own reality         curving the under half-way through permanent transitory       -    How does space enable and enliven body memory? What is the body’s strategy to extend itself and harness nostalgia in a particular space? Inspired by the recent stay-at-home orders, accessing what is at-hand, we explore ideas from Gaston Bachelard’s The Poetics of Space and Sara Ahmed’s Queer Phenomenology, negotiating the body’s capacity to extend and orient to a domestic space through physical and kinesthetic agency as well as psychological and spiritual inquiry. As an ongoing process, this collaborative project is researching the complexity of memory by taking a close look at representation of sensation through sound and video.     Hopkins Hall Gallery Summer Series features short-term projects including performances, installations, audience-participatory work, and public programs or activities by Ohio State University graduate students. online Urban Arts Space uas@osu.edu America/New_York public
