Urban Arts Space is looking for local arts ambassadors between the ages of 13–18 to join the Inaugural Columbus Creative Cohort. We invite young artists interested in visual art, poetry, music and technology, history and archive, and curation to apply by sending us a sixty-second video introducing yourself, what you do, and what democracy means to you.

Selected applicants will participate in a free, two-week program from July 14–25 as part of the Smithsonian Democracy in Dialogue program. The program includes site visits to OSU Urban Arts Space, Ohio History Connection, and Maroon Arts Group. Applicants will learn from professional artists such as Arris' Cohen in visual art, Ajanaé Dawkins in poetry, Kaleem Musa in music and technology, Tyiesha Radford Shorts in creative archives, and lyana Hill in curation. Students can receive possible school credits, letters of recommendation from Ohio State and The Smithsonian, and other compensation.

If you are interested in applying, fill out the form below and submit your sixty-second video!
