We’re enthusiastic to share that our Community Artist-in-Residence Ajanaé Dawkins has been awarded the prestigious Elizabeth George Foundation Grant! This is a highly selective opportunity that speaks to Ajanaé’s hard work and commitment to the writing craft. This year, 2025, is the Elizabeth George Foundation’s last year awarding grants, so she is part of their final cohort of grantees. 

Ajanaé was awarded this generous grant to complete her interdisciplinary docu-poetics manuscript. She’ll be using this funding to support her research over the next year, which will begin with traveling to research sites.
