Community Engagement Intern

Education

  • Major: Moving-Image Production
  • Major: Journalism

Ethan (He/Him) is a third-year Community Engagement Intern at the Urban Arts Space, who is double-majoring in Moving-Image Production and Journalism. His favorite part of working at Urban Arts Space is the collaborative environment, and the gallery's commitment to building/supporting community. He is interested in filmmaking (both narrative and documentary), as well as music and creative writing. He is drawn to these art forms because of their emotionally cathartic effects, and their potential for self-expression.

In his free time, Ethan plays guitar, writes, records, and performs music with his friends. He also likes shooting 35mm film photography and enjoys socializing and meeting new people. He is passionate about the DIY and community-based ethos of punk and independent music/art, which informs his approach to artistic endeavors.

Ethan tries to live as an open book. He feels we all owe each other more honesty, especially when it comes to the things we admire about one another. His words to live by are: "If you're thinking something positive or nice about someone else, they deserve to know." He believes in spreading positivity and exuding friendliness.
