Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Brotherly Love

photography 2022

Do you remember what it feels like to be pure? No cares in the world? Not knowing what heartache is, what letdowns are, to be young, Black, and free? Do you remember what it feels like to explore any and everything, not anticipating results but living with them when they arrive? Remember what it feels like to lie in the grass as the wind kisses your skin, the sun is baking you as you get a shade darker, and the sharp grass pokes you just enough to feel it but not enough to pierce the skin? Remember walking to the corner store with your brother(s) on a hot summer day and putting the money together your parents gave you or money that you saved up for cutting grass, sweeping barbershop f loors, or chores around the crib, or even using your moms EBT card, purchasing the most dehydrating drinks and snacks? Honey buns, cream soda Faygo, ice cream, and Grippos, and Gatorade? Can you feel it?
