Seventh Annual Design Winter Market

Seventh Annual Design Winter Market

Welcome to the Seventh Annual Design Winter Market!

Welcome one and all to the Seventh Annual Design Winter Market! This webpage is the online companion to a tradition within the Department of Design at Ohio State. During the Winter Market, an on-campus event and online exhibition, guests will encounter limited-edition—and, in several cases, unique—products designed and produced by design students and affiliated staff. Products will be available to purchase for a limited time only!

The Seventh Annual Design Winter Market features:

  • Home Goods Shoppe – Each of the “home goods” products, designed by third-year industrial design students as part of an Autumn 2024 studio course, strike a balance between addressing the needs of users, demands of small-run production, constraints of a limited budget, and approaches to sustainability.
  • Design Ventures Showcase – featuring product offerings from small businesses owned by current design students

Winter Market Products will be on sale for a limited time on December 4, 2024, and only on-location (from 10 AM–1 PM in front of Hayes Hall on Ohio State's campus).

How It Works

Preview Seventh Annual Design Winter Market products online, then visit our on-campus location to purchase during a limited time window: products will be on sale during our on-campus Winter Market event from 10 AM–1 PM in front of Hayes Hall on Ohio State's Columbus campus on December 4, 2024. In years past, products sell out in mere minutes!

Products must be purchased with Design Winter Market tickets, which will be available to purchase on-location during the event. All ticket purchases must be completed in-person via our online system—we cannot accept cash or other forms of payment in-person.

There will be no shipping options for purchases. All purchases must be picked up during the on-campus Winter Market event. For those products that have multiple variations or colors available, customers will make their selection during pickup on a first come, first served basis.

All sales are final, no refunds. No expressed or implied warranties.

Special Thanks

The student designers (and their Professors) would like to extend a special thanks to industry professionals—some of them OSU Design alums—who contributed to the development of these products through their participation during studio critiques and/or guest lectures: Todd Perkins, Laura Lenhart, Annie Abell, Josh Haldeman, Izzy Brown, Kevin Ward, Deb Scott, William Nickley, and Maria Palazzi.

Additional special thanks to members of the student chapter of CSCA at Ohio State, who designed the Annual Design Winter Market brand identity and guidelines: Lilyana Bryan and Ciera Yamarick, which were further adapted for this year's event by Visiting Assistant Professor Kevin Ward.
