Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Education

  • Major: Studio Art w/ Sculpture emphasis

Alicia is a Community Engagement Intern at UAS. Her favorite part has been learning the logistics behind running a show and what goes into setting it up. She is fascinated by the different ways to arrange space to make it inviting and inclusive for everyone.

Alicia works in sculpture using organic materials to create thought-provoking work surrounding human and animal relationships, as well as sustainability and the ethics of meat consumption. Alicia values the connection between herself and the material she works with and enjoys sourcing materials that are unique and that take time to work with.

In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering at the Museum of Biological Diversity, preserving bird specimens, and working closely with the tetrapod curator, Tamaki Yuri. She also enjoys a good rest in her bed after a long school and workday. Alicia is passionate about her artistic practice and social issues related to race, gender, and class.

Alicia encourages others to care about each other and show up for their community in any small way possible.
