  • Minor: Studio Art

Mackie is a Community Engagement Intern at Urban Art Space currently pursuing a degree in Social Work with a minor in Studio Art. She is deeply committed to using creative expression as a means of connection and healing. In her free time, Mackie enjoys creating art—primarily working with oil paints, though her practice also includes murals, design, illustration, printmaking, and drawing.

For the past six years, Mackie has served at the Huckleberry House, where she now works as a Crime Victim Services Art Specialist. In this role, she leads art groups for unhoused young people in Columbus, combining her love of art with her passion for advocacy and social support. Her work is grounded in a deep belief that art should be accessible to all, and creative practices can empower individuals and build community.

Mackie values authenticity over perfection and approaches her work and relationships with warmth, honesty, and care. Mackie loves finding miraculous moments within the mundane. She recommends surrounding oneself with people who show up with integrity and compassion.
