  • Minor: Art History
Rylee McKenzie (she/her) is an Honors BFA candidate in Painting & Drawing with a minor in Art History at The Ohio State University (Class of 2026). As a Community Engagement Intern at Urban Arts Space, she supports exhibition programming, visitor experience, and outreach that connects art spaces with Columbus communities. Rylee’s creative practice bridges painting, textiles, and writing, exploring themes of care, memory, and healing. All are equally inspired by experimental process, relational ties, and community-centered projects that invite participation and reflection. In her free time, she enjoys long studio days, journaling, cooking with friends, and yoga. She is passionate about expanding access to the arts, while also building welcoming, intergenerational creative ecosystems. This semester, she is eager to deepen skills in community partnerships, gallery education, and accessible interpretation, especially around programs that invite dialogue and care. After graduation, Rylee hopes to pursue an MFA and join the Peace Corps to continue building platforms where art, scholarship, and life meet. Words to live by: have courage, lead with humility, and make space for kindness to shine.
