2024 Juneteenth Celebration: Hale Center

Thu, June 13, 2024
10:30 am - 2:00 pm
MLK Auditorium, Room 132 at Hale Hall

Black creativity is a common theme of Black joy and celebration, and Juneteenth is no exception. Juneteenth celebrations offer communities the opportunity to engage in the expression of Black joy and creativity while commemorating the ending of slavery across the United States. Black art has the power to narrate the lived experiences of Black Americans in a way that creates community with one another.

As you engage with our panelists, enjoy a heartfelt meal, and create your own version of Black joy through artistic expression, we hope you learn that you are in control and have agency over the multitude of ways you choose to express your story. Allow yourself to be inspired by the Black creatives we have present at our 2024 Juneteenth Celebration!

Join us as we celebrate Black excellence through art!
