Overview

Urban Arts Space's Hybrid Arts Lab is a multi-venue learning lab that experiments with how art is imagined, made, viewed, and understood. Hybrid Arts Lab encourages collaboration, experimental approaches to artmaking, and an inclination towards asking big questions that ignite thoughtful conversations.

Hybrid Arts Lab showcases collaborative and experimental exhibitions, performances, and discussions by art makers and researchers in the College of Arts and Sciences. Art makers and researchers are invited to explore new ways of integrating and circulating their creative activity, teaching, and research within the associated venues:

Submit a Proposal

The proposal round for Spring 2023 has now closed. Selected projects will be featured in Spring 2023 across Urban Arts Space, Hopkins Hall Gallery, and UAS Online. 

Hybrid Arts Lab is open to proposals from faculty, students and staff in the departments of Art, Arts Administration, Education and Policy (AAEP), Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design (ACCAD), Creative Writing, Dance, Design, History of Art, Music, and Theatre, Film, and Media Arts at The Ohio State University. Proposals will be reviewed by a committee of faculty representatives from these departments.

While solo applications will be considered, applicants are encouraged to collaborate across program areas to create and experiment with their creative practice.
