Fashion upcycling is the act of taking pre-loved clothing and giving it new life with the addition of artistic touches through colorful stitched floral designs, paint, or combined fabrics. At July's Artist Commune, attendees are invited to bring in old clothes to beautify through the provided multimedia materials, pushing the boundaries of where fashion stops and art begins. The event will connect to Ana Lowe's Reimagined by Ela é. fashion exhibition on view in the Urban Arts Space corridor. Free and open to all!
Artist Commune is a monthly event at Urban Arts Space that allows artists and the community to come together to create art, discuss art, and network. It's held on the last Friday of each month.
