Connecting both March as Women’s History Month and April as Second Chance Month, the Life After panel discussion will focus on the lasting impact that involvement with the criminal legal system has on women. The panel features members of the Ohio Justice & Policy Center and connects to the stories on display as part of the Beyond Guilt exhibition in the Urban Arts Space corridor.
Among other topics, panelists will discuss the issue of human trafficking and safe harbor as a form of second-chance relief for survivors. Although Beyond Guilt and Second Chance are two distinct projects, Beyond Guilt serves to, in part, ask the court or parole boards for a second chance for incarcerated individuals. The panel will also cover collateral sanctions and the need to create relief that makes reentry and reintegration possible. Audience members can ask questions during the Q&A at the end of the panel discussion.
This event will take place in person at Urban Arts Space, and it will also be livestreamed via a Zoom webinar.
