Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Through their treatment of color, shape, and texture, Charles Porter and Larry Ross create two-dimensional planes through which onlookers are free to navigate. While their pieces are largely nonobjective, they are emotionally charged due to their use of intuitive mark-making. Through their work, Porter and Ross draw viewers into pigmented worlds they have created. Viewers traverse these naturally-inspired worlds based on little more than visual interpretation of space. Ultimately, they serve as a cartographers to worlds unknown, but deserving of exploration.

Natural Worlds is in conjunction with Open Door Art Studio. Open Door Art Studio empowers artists with disabilities to develop unique, artistic voices and to experience opportunities afforded through the arts. We believe that creativity knows no boundaries and that all individuals deserve an environment for “expression without limitation.”
