About the Artists Geren Heurtin: Through photography, I am navigating spaces between abstraction, nonverbal communication, vulnerability, and trauma. What happens when you can’t visualize a difficult memory, but it is deeply felt in the body? Julia Matejcek: I make photographs with the more-than-human world—the greater community of landscape and animals that includes yet decenters the human. About the Artists

Geren Heurtin: Through photography, I am navigating spaces between abstraction, nonverbal communication, vulnerability, and trauma. What happens when you can’t visualize a difficult memory, but it is deeply felt in the body?

Julia Matejcek: I make photographs with the more-than-human world—the greater community of landscape and animals that includes yet decenters the human. I often make camera-less photographs, which I mediate by touch.
