Emma is passionate about the personal stories behind art: what art means to people, especially the artist. She loves hearing other people’s stories and what they have to say. As an Engagement Intern at UAS, Emma’s favorite part is being able to talk to the gallery’s artists personally about their artwork during interviews and hearing how much their work means to them. She also enjoyed being able to meet and get an autograph from Patrick McDonnell, the artist behind the exhibition Side Effects.

Emma spends a lot of her free time reading and learning about art in any way she can, especially the history of it. She is particularly interested in paintings, specifically 1800s French and Dutch art, impressionism, post-impressionism, and surrealism.
