Art Explorations


Art Explorations

Art Explorations is an interactive art education series that provides an opportunity for students and their families to create art in a gallery setting. Art Explorations encourages an interest in the arts and aims to develop participants’ cognitive skills, self-esteem, and self-expression. The program is free and provides opportunities for families to develop a range of artistic techniques with visiting artists, and explore current exhibits at Urban Arts Space.

Crafternoons! is a Saturday afternoon craft program geared towards adults 16 and up that spreads knowledge of up-cycling and thrift through projects that encourage creativity.

Community outreach and engagement are an essential part of Urban Arts Space’s philosophy. Urban Arts Space is always excited to be a part of community festivals and gatherings. Past CarryOut Art experiences have included events such as the Upper Arlington Labor Day Arts Fest, the Long Street Cultural Wall unveiling, Bicentennial Park's FountainSide and Grand Illumination events, and Columbus Commons for Kids events.

Summer Arts Camp

Every Summer, the Urban Arts Space education team organizes free arts camps for school-age students. Campers immerse themselves in a topic by participating in arts, crafts, and activities relating to the theme. The camp culminates each year with a reception for friends and family where the kids present what they have made and learned.

Learning Partnership with Columbus School for Girls

Learning Partnerships

The Education and Tours teams at Urban Arts Space foster relationships with area schools, and community groups through learning partnerships. Teachers who request a personalized program and tour for their class, will receive a lesson plan and tour for their age group based on the Ohio State, compliant with the Department of Education Visual Arts Standards and some of the season's most influential exhibitions.
